The accessibility of this technological avalanche sometimes results in overwhelmed individuals who in contrast seek to create in a more artisanal manner.

Ceramic art has been increasing in popularity these last few years, more and more contemporary ceramic artists are being shown in galleries and art fairs. We have gathered five contemporary ceramic artists who are killing it and are the ultimate embodiment of how creatively far this artisan way of doing can go. Check it out!

Faye Hadfield

Faye Hadfield is a British artist who has completely transformed the traditional way of vase making. Her pots and vases are small creatures whose bodies have been squashed in her hands. The strange mannerism of the creatures pushes the boundaries of ceramics while the artists build up layers of colors that express her inner thoughts.

In her work she represents social and religious issues from a dark humor point of view. Mar de Dios

Also in the national scene and one of our favorites as well is Mar de Dios, her work fluctuates between the purely functional and the contemplative. That is why her ceramics merge perfectly between design and contemporary art whilst inviting to reflect on the household elements, transforming ceramics into a way of language.
